Slow and Steady...

(hopefully) makes a sweater. I am still not quite sure what made me want to knit a sweater with an ever growing belly, or with upcoming warm weather, but sweater it is. I am just below the sleeves, working the wonderfully endless stockinette.

Knitting!

I went to the Pittsburgh Knit and Crochet Festival last weekend and picked up this awesome hand spun, hand dyed yarn by an absolutely lovely gal many of you probably know. I got enough to make simple roll brimmed hats for Kendall and I.

Its not much, but its knitting. Now I must get motivated to work on the sweater I started...

Remember Me?

I have a confession to make. I've been keeping a secret from you. But its time to come clean.
If the pictures of recent sewing don't clue you in...
our little family will be welcoming a new member the end of July!
I wonder what you knit for a summer baby?

Honey, We're Home!

That basket to the left has my granny square blanket in progress in it!

It's been a while since I have posted, and I wanted to let you know I am still around. Life has been a whirlwind with lots going on, and the new job is keeping me really busy. I have no new knitting to show for it. But even with the craziness, we managed to get all settled into our new home and I just love it here. Hope you had a wonderful Holidays!

I am such a cheater.

I swore I would focus on the blanket exclusively, but I couldn't resist casting on more stuff. The knitting, she called to me. I missed my needles. The weather got suddenly chilly and Kendall needed mittens and a new hat. I had the perfect yarn in my stash left over from past projects for just the occasion.
How could I resist?

I highly recommend it.

I couldn't. On the upside, the guilt of my affair had me in a hurry to finish. I did most all of the knitting over the weekend- I even knit a little I-cord at lightening speed Sunday evening- seemed just in time for Monday's tiny snowfall, which Kendall enjoyed tremendously.

Its the only way she can be persuaded to wear any hand knits. God bless that snow.

Sneak Peak.

I asked our new landlord (we are renting again) if I could come by our new place and do some measuring before the move. Gotta make sure we can get our stuff in and out! I brought the camera along to take some pictures of our new place, so I thought I would share.
The current tenant hasn't started packing yet.

While I really wished we were buying, with the economy the way it is we thought it best to wait it out and see what happens.
I can't wait until its ours!

That said, I couldn't be happier with this place- it is a gorgeous space with lots of room and beautiful woodwork and tons of charm. I'd love to show you more, but I gotta wait until its ours!

Happy Election Day.

I am not going to ask, because I totally know you voted. Instead I am going to share with you my newest project.
It looks like its maybe a lot, but I still have a long ways to go.
Granny squares that will eventually be a blanket for our new home. We found a nice place close to the city where we can park our little family for a while. I am excited- but impatient. We aren't moving until the very end of the month. I am going stir crazy!
So these six by six inch little guys have been keeping me occupied- and helping me calm down after stressful nights at work. I hope to finish by the time we move. Four squares a day for 25 days and a few days for seaming and I should have a finished blanket!
